It can be common, especially if you are already irregular. If this is something different from your normal cycle, keep good track of it. If its a one time thing, could be stress, hormonal imbalance... If it keeps happening, talk to your doctor because it can be signs of something else, cysts, thyroid issues, etc... Also, if you have a mom or sisters that you can talk to, ask them, these answers are often something other family members have been through and can help with. Good Luck!

sometime our bodies can really go through different changes from stress or daily life. This has happened to me several times. If your really concerned you should go to your doctor. You might have had a miscarriage. Sometime you might get a period twice if your cycle is changing too. If your not in a lot of pain or passing clots then I wouldn't be too concerned.

It happened to me in college a long time ago. Was brought on by stress, and continued for months until I made a decision to change schools.

its not common but it could be normal if your sure it is ur period and not some thing else... which would be very bad... It happened to me once... v. weird yea... but i'm fine. I looked it up then and it said its normal especially if your period is pretty irregular to begin with.

Maybe you miscarried. Call your gynecologist if you are worried. Perhaps the first cycle something got stuck, like a blood clot, and then it dislodged so the rest of your cycle came out. try webmd.com.
