My mother always went with "starve a fever, starve a cold".
She also starved us for anything else! I always used to sneak down and steal bread when she said I couldn't eat lol.

Yes starve a fever, feed a cold, but make sure both have plenty to drink.

Do what your body tells you to do! When you have a fever you dont have an appetite anyway so yea starve the fever. When you have a cold you tend to be pretty hungry, so eat what you want, but obviously if you dont have any appetite, dont eat. Your body tends to tell you what is best. Go to the Sauna if you have a cold and swet it out of you or have a hot toddie before you go to bed.......works wonders. ( hot whiskey)
