i have some files that i have downloaded but dont work in windows media player. They work in VLC media player but i want to use them to make an amv in windows movie maker. the main types of files they are, are mkv and avi. they should play but just dont, or only the sound will play in windows media player.

hey bunnyman. your pretty retarded. i just said i didnt know where to get codecs downloaded and i dont need a player. Atleast the guy below you has some sense.

go to google and look for K lite codec pack, download and install, it worked for me
