With only 32 bowl games, only the very finest 64 division IA college football teams get to go to bowl games. Isn't this unfair to the rest? Even crappy teams work hard and practice all season, and missing bowl season must be tough on their self esteem. Shouldn't we have a bowl for everyone? (And give big trophies to the losers too?)

Bowl games are intended to be an award for a good season. In my opinion there are really too many bowl games. I feel a team should have 7 wins to qualify for a bowl.

Aren't there too many bowls to begin with. Why does Miami, FSU, Iowa, or Minnesota deserve to play a bowl game? You earn the right to play in the postseason by doing well in the regular season. The whole bowl system is a load of crap anyway.

Bowl games started out as privately sponsored events with the intent to make money. Not withstanding the NCCA's control over participation in bowl games, they remain private, for-profit enterprises. Sponsors of bowl games want teams that will attract a paying audience. Who, in their right mind, would attempt to sponsor a game between sub-par teams that no one would pay to watch play?

The only way to pull that off would be to make every teams regular season shorter.
