with this new dowload I can not find my favorites?

Just a guess, did you just download IE7? If so your favorites are there. They are in the gold star below the blue left arrow. The green ( + ) overlaying the gold star is how you add to your favorites. You may also want to take a look at a Menu Bar tweak.
