I think that may be the case with the certain age group. Computers are so accessible now a days that seems like every one has at least one. All you need do is to log on and off you go. Meeting people require more planning and stuff. There is not much difference between personally meeting and chatting on phone or computer except that staying makes your butt bigger and your tummy looks like you are six month pregnant but other than that all is OK.

When I first got my computer it was almost as if my life was the computer it became almost an addiction. I try to spend less and less time on it each day because of the fact I am missing time with my husband and child. I could be doing something with them instead of being on the internet. I do find it relaxing when they are both in bed to get on the internet play a few games or answer a few questions though.

My fiancee and I are always fighting for the computer. He likes playing ff VI and I like surfing the web. So I know that we're spending way to much time on the computer.

You obviously do otherwise you wouldn't have had time to ask the question. I fee the same way, but it all comes from having to be on the computer all day for work, or school. People just tend to get hooked to it.

If your premise is that if I wasnt on the computer I would be with friends or family, thats an assumption. Its not based on understanding or data, but prejudice.

I feel like I reach out and connect with all appropriate avenues available to me. I do what I can, and your question feels critical, and invalidating.

Not only on the computer but other electronic devices also, starting with the television. I used to be jealous of the time my husband spent in front of the boob tube. Now he is jealous of the time I spend on the computer, especially on answers.( ^_^ )
