You want to know why??? Because, many people aren't comfortable in their own skin. Can't really change that. Plus, look at the media, they are mostly people that others look up to and want to be. So us regulars see that "well, they are skinny, I want to be too" or something among those lines. Many want to "fit in" because face it, sometimes popularity bring happiness, not all the time, but yeah. Oh and people shop at the same stores because it either their own individual style, they want to be "cool" or maybe that's the only clothing store within miles of there house. But I mostly blame the media, it gets into our head, under our skin, and controls our thoughts making us think something is wrong with us, when in reality we are just fine.

Its about society and fitting in,i think it stems from school when anyone different was bullied,i think we also carry this through our teens and into our adulthood,we all want to belong and be part of what is 'in' to feel normal i guess,i wear what I'm comfortable in ,but i must admit i do make sure its in fashion and up to date, suppose for fear of drawing attention to myself in a negative way

You know, this Empty-Nesting Single Retiree NEVER cared for Fashion or fitting in (in this way) ... hence my choice of Careers (I'm Retired Military), and always dressed for comfort and ability to deal with what was in front of me.

Well its because they feel that if they fit inlife would be a blast and all but really its just a waste of time. when you try to fit in to what people like you become blind to what is really you.
