Bettas can go up to a week without food. There isn't very much in your home that you can feed him.

Just make sure you buy betta food tomorrow!

Also, please learn about your new pet so you know how to care for him.

don't worry about it. They won't eat the first day anyway.. any fish when put in a new environment takes a day or 2 to get used to it and they won't eat right away.

Don't make the mistake that a lot of people do with bettas, uhumm including people here.. Give it some space to swim in.. 5 gallons is the minimum.. And feed it more than betta flakes or pellets.. They love freeze dried blood worms, daphnia, and brine shrimp.. And if you can find those frozen, that would be great too. A varied diet will make him happy.

pick these items up tomorrow too while you're at it. $5 for the 5 gallon tank, maybe a little decoration too.. if they have a java fern plant at the store get that and put that in the tank... Java Ferns are very hardy and won't die on you.

It's not really a big issue. He's likely fairly stressed from the move, and many don't eat the 1st day or 2. He'll be fine for days without food. Bettas are carnivores eating insect larva and insects. What you need is a "meaty" flake or pellet with worms/shrimp/fish as a primary component. Ideally feeding a mix of freeze dried brine shrimp, and blood worms. (That said lots of people have used pellets, or flakes with good results.) I prefer to feed 5-6 days a week about as much as their eyeball. Most betta died from over feeding rather than under feeding.

PS-You should really read up on bettas.

He should be fine if he goes only a day or two without food. Beta food is everywhere and I suggest the small balls rather than the flakes. Much cleaner water and easier to handle.

You need to get a few things:
-Meds for them.
-A bigger tank then that small bowl that he came in, unless you got one already.
-Fish food specially made for Betta Fish, I use HBH Betta Bites.
-A fish net(they don't cost much.)
-Stress coat if you are going to be using tap water, I use bottle water but you can use tap water as well plus you don't have to pay money for it!
Also visit this website she's really good with betta's.

Just to be safe, I wouldn't feed him any thing else other than Beta food. He/she will be fine if you are able to purchase food tomorrow.

DO NOT feed your beta anything out of your house. wait until you go to the store and get him some proper beta food; he'll be ok until then.

Buy him one of those freeze-dried worms betta fish food. Those are really good.

Go to Google, and type in betta fish care.

Read up well! :)
