The Cosmic Landscape by Leonard Susskind. It even addresses what we think is intelligent design - simply stated strings are non dimensional points of energy that canvas what is out there and those interact giving to waves of actions that interact and we think of as sub atomic particles to more complex matter. The odds on what interactions happen allow for certain other things to occur - so by narrowing the choices threw complex wave interactions allows specifically for what is to be what is. Our self awareness is just another waive (frequency) of energy. That in it self is complex to us feeble human, but having the power of strings interacting - any creative thought has some possibility of becoming a reality, even if that reality seems impossible to our feeble mind. We humans tend to categories things and not look at them for what they are. Take water-- is it a plasma, vapor, ice, liquid, steam or are they just different manifestations of the same thing
