abuse by definition is anything and everything that's offensive to your body and spirit. That includes physical and emotional abuse.

Today, with so many, abuse seems to be any reactions from another that you dont like, agree with, appreciate, consider right yourself, approve of or want, being told the truth when the person hearing it doesnt want to hear or accept it. At times with some people, it is having to answer for what you did or failed to do.

Many today seem to think simply not getting their way is abuse. Many think causing or starting a fist fight with someone, then getting their own teeth knocked out is abuse.

While real abuse does exist, so much of what people today call or think abuse really isnt. Much of it is merely something they cause to come about by their own doings or failures.

KEEP THE ABOVE IN MIND WHEN YOU READ A LOT OF THE ANSWERS YOU WILL RECEIVE IN REGARDS TO THIS QUESTION. What I have said may not be popular, but oh well. I dont follow the general nonsense and politically correct garbage of today.

Anything that makes you feels bad. Abuse is not just physical but mental. Usually the beginning stage is name calling or comments said to lower the others sense of self confidence. This may go on for years before anything psychical happens. In a relationship partners should treat each-other as equals nothing less!

Physical abuse is hitting, shoving, etc. Mental and emotional abuse is much more subtle. Check out the website below.

Mary said it best... don't forget verbal abuse along with the physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. Abuse is one person using their physical, emotional, sexual, or verbal power over another person to force them to submit to their will or to cause them harm.

Abuse is when someone physically or emotionally harms you for no other reason than control or their own mental illness. It is not discipline, it is not love, it is harm.
