What would you hang over a fireplace?

Well you could hang a picture, a nice clock, one of those lighted pictures they have these days that light up and the picture seems to be moving..ive seen that done many times.

Different things I suppose, but it would always be something that has a lot of sentimental value for me because I've always loved the sayings about 'home and hearth', and when I was growing up, my parents always hung the family pictures there and an old clock that we had for years. So I might hang pictures of my immediate family and my best friends, and anything that has to do with the Moon or elephants...those are a few of my favorite things :)

mabye see if you can hang a mantle over it and put some little decorations, or like the others said mabye a clock or a large painting, or you could do a clock in the middle and two same size paintings on the side, or a very large painting with a clock on each side, whatever you think looks best.

I wuldn't hang anything over the fireplace. I'd paint above the fireplace instead.

I have a large mirror over mine. My room is painted with a deep red. Since that color is a bit dark, I chose a mirror due to it reflecting light to brighten the room up a bit.
