hi!!!applied for an online monthly contract from 02 but they emailed me back that they can not grant me as my credit check was not ok. I am university grad student and have arrived in England 3 months ago. will having more money in my debit account work? The deals from the shop are more expensive and i prefer to order online. I want O2 as it provides the O2 XDA orbit that is exactly what i want. thanks!

when network providers do a credit check they get the info from 1 of 2 companies either Equifax or Experian. If you live in the Uk you will need to be put on the electoral roll and have a good credit rating. But if you have come from overseas in this country you wont have a credit history here, you wil need to build it up.

if you go to www.equifax.co.uk or www.experian.co.uk you can get a copy of your credit records if you have one.
