he could have been alergic to a perfume or lotion someone had on. Or...When my baby was that young, men with whiskers would break him out in rashes. The whiskers were a little too rough for his sensitive skin. IF it keeps up you need to see his doctor.

If it has a rough texture it could be a sign of eczema. You might wanna just make a doctors oppointment and let them know that you would like to test your baby for eczema. If that is not the case than your baby could just be having an allergic reaction to something think about what you did with you baby as far as what you fed him or clothed him with that might of caused this rash. Hopefully you can come to some resolution. Good Luck!

if the rash is on his cheeks, it could be because he's teething. when my daughter turned one, she got a rash on her cheeks, from all the slobber from teething. other than that, i dont know what it could be from, but keep his face clean and dry. if its really sore, apply a thin layer of vasaline over the rash. that way, it is protected from food, or dirt, or whatever babies can get on thier face. if it dosent go away in a day or so, i'd take your baby to the dr and have them take a look at it. or, one time my daughter had a rash, and i called her dr and told her what it looked like, and they called in a prescription in for it. i didnt even have to take her in to the office!

It could be eczema, so bring him in to see his doc. But it could just be chapped from cold and wet weather (sorry I don't know where you are) and if that's the case your doc can recomend best care. I used carmex on my kids' chapped faces (we used to live in MN) and it worked great, but I am not sure if that is recommended by physicians.

you will probably be noticing cradle cap about now- babies oil glands are just starting to work- this is called infant acne. Wip face with warm water and wash babies hair with safeguard soap. All my kids got this at one month of age and this procedure worked. Loosen cradle cap with baby oil and comb before washing with safeguard.

Babies sometimes get what my pediatrician calls "Baby acne". After a couple months, it just disappears on it's own, but I would advise you to see the pediatrician to confirm that this is what it is.
