Law and Order was beaten to the ground by NBC constantly having different variations. The funniest cop show was Sledge Hammer. CSI Miami a close 2nd because who could ever believe David Caruso have a gorgeous wife for 3 days and then has a tombstone done up in one day with her name on it. For pure action HUNTER.

My favorite of all is... Third Watch!!! My daughter-in-law and I watched it together over the phone, she lived 3 hours away. But Law and Order are very good. I think NBC made a mistake taking Third Watch off, thank God for A&E and reruns.

Peter Gun, Mannix, Rockford Files (I'm dating myself with these older shows - but they were all terrific and the main characters were all suave and classy. Don't see that much anymore!)
