Yes.... May God have mercy on us if she does.

I'd like to think she doesn't have a chance but, fact is: She has made all the moves necessary to become a front runner for the office.

Of course that doesn't mean she will win but she does have a chance. Being in the majority party at this time could put a large star next to her name and, let's not kid ourselves, she was part of Bill's strategy when he ran and won. The Clinton's are expert campaigners and shouldn't be ignored in any kind of political race. Hillary has the money, experience (on paper) and charisma which will be a big factor for democrats and undecided in the next presidential election.

Can Hillary Clinton be elected president? You bet she can! If she can handle having her feet put the fire, Obama falls flat and that nut case from North Carolina stays on message she has a big chance in her party.

My opinion if Hillary makes it past the primaries; she'll have to debate Mitt Romney who, may come on strong once he gets his message out.

There are different opinions on that, even within the Democratic Party. But many of the party leaders are convinced she can, and I agree. It all depends on whether she can connect viscerally with the people. She can't let her high intelligence prevent her compassion for people from showing through. I think once she declares and we start seeing her on a national level on a regular basis she will start to connect more with the everyday person on the street. That is vital, if she can't do that, she can't win. Also, she should do extremely well in the debates and the debates are always a deciding factor for many voters. She'll be very strong in that arena - and if Obama decides to run that's where his inexperience may really hurt him. I'd love to see a Clinton/Obama ticket, I think that's a formidable and winning combination.

I know idealistic folks who think she can; but I am very skeptical. And the reasons have little or nothing to do with her gender.

She has many enemies inside her own party. And worse, it appears some are smiling at her face, while digging deep trenches around her.

Her perceived negatives remain high in important states; especially in comparison to Edwards, Obama, Kerry, Gore, and other strong primary candidates. The Iowa governor can beat her in Iowa, even.

The spectre of her husband is a double edged sword---outside a few Dem enclaves, he still has major problems, and always will... the two of them are like lightening rods...they incite a very powerful antipathy. Many other Dems do not do this.

California and NY alone cannot carry an election. Even adding in MA & ILL, it is not nearly enough.....

Her best chance in my opinion is if her opponents, both Dems, and if she is nominated, a Rep, all shoot themselves in the foot, repeatedly.

Possible, but unlikely.

Completely depends. A lot can change between now and 2008. Hillary is technically electable. Is she the best Democratic candidate? That is certainly to be determined. A lot will depend on who the Republicans nominate.

It's within the realm of possibility. Probability? I dunno.

But I'll tell you what, I'd rather have that woman in the oval office than the "current occupant."

Most everytime that redneck opens his mouth, he reveals his lack of intelligence and command of the English language. Great roll model.

I'd like to see Hillary b*i*t*c*h slap that smirk right off Dubya's face.

Hey, that'd be a cage match, wouldn't it? I'd pay big bucks to attend that.

"A recent poll by the Marist Institute for Public opinion found that 47 percent of Americans polled would definitely not consider voting for Clinton." She is too polarizing of a candidate, in my opinion, to be elected. She has experience, she works hard, and she is a proven fund raiser, yet I don't think she is the women for the job. Also, she has very tough competition from Obama and McCain.

Yes she can. all she has to do is get the nomination from the Democrats, raise enough money to run and then get the most votes from the electoral college and hey presto! she's president. Any natural American can go through this process.

Yes of course if she has enough votes.

It's entirely possible, but I sincerely hope that she won't be.
