It comes down to how much of a risk you pose to an insurance company. Since it is proven that people with "height to weight ratio" problems and smokers end up needing more medical care than those that are not. Just like a person with a poor driving record pays more in premiums because of their driving history.

Unfortunately, large people and smokers already DO pay more. It's built into the premium. He's just young, not right bright, and thinks he knows all of it.

But it is happening more and more now. If you are overwieght and smoke, you will have to pay higher premiums or even get turned down by underwriters....I know.

its isnt fair, but is it fair that we all pay more because people smoke? Overweight I dont think is right because sometimes that is genetic, however smoking is a choice.
