Douching and those wipes both cause infections. How do women NOT know this stuff?

QUOTE:
Health problems linked to douching include:

vaginal irritation,
vaginal infections called bacterial vaginosis or BV,
sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and
pelvic inflammatory disease (PID)
Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is an infection of a woman's uterus, fallopian tubes and/or ovaries. It is caused by bacteria that travel from a woman's vagina and cervix up into her reproductive organs. If left untreated, PID can cause fertility problems (difficulties getting pregnant). PID also boosts a woman's chances of ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy in the fallopian tube instead of the uterus). Some STDs, BV, and PID can all lead to serious problems during pregnancy. These include infection in the baby, problems with labor, and early delivery. Doctors and the ACOG suggest women avoid douching completely. Most experts believe that douching increases a woman's chances of infection. Doctors suggest women avoid scented tampons, pad, powders and sprays. These products may increase a woman's chances of getting vaginal infections.

It's not a yeast infection, yeast infections itch. You'd know if it was that. It could be trichomoniasis, a simple bacterial disease cured with antibiotics, that you can get from just damp areas etc. It is also sexually transmitted. If you're noticing any abnormal discharge that could definately tip it off. I suggest you see your doctor, but yet it could be nothing. It could be just that your cycle has changed and your discharging more often. It's not embarassing I promise, it happens to the best of us! But most likely douching and feminine wipes won't help, douching can actually make things worse! It removes the good bacteria that helps to fight off the bad bacteria. Your gyno can help you to find a remedy, birthcontrol is often the solution. Hope I was of some help, best of luck!

See a Dr. It could be a simple yeast infection or something more complicated. To be honest, all those feminine douche's, wipes, sprays...they will only make odors worse and can actually contribute to the infection.
If it smells like beer or bread (yeast) down there, then it's a simple infection, but if it smells worse than the above it could be more serious. See a Dr. asap!!

Quit using the wipes - they may destroy some useful infection-fighting bacteria. And since it's recent, you've probably got an infection or something in there and need to take it to the doctor. Don't worry - it's not necessarily a sign of bad living, poor hygiene, or sleeping around ... could be something as simple as thrush. Your doctor will probably take a swab and identify it; meantime, I wouldn't have intercourse, just as a precaution.

Almost certainly it's something simple and easily treatable. Good luck.

You really need to visit your dr. It could be an infection that can be cleared up with medications. You didn't mention your age, but if you're approaching perimenopause, the changes your body goes through can also cause a change in body odors.

accually douching..could be causing the smell to be worse...it can mess up your natural bacteria...perhaps you have a uti...or some kind of normal infection that woman get from time to time...I would talk to your gyno about the problem. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about...nothing an antibiotic or something couldn't cure.

Go to see a gyn. Most of the time when there is an odor it is because of an infection. You could have an infection and not even know it.

Baby girl, go to the doctor. It could be a yeast infection. Or something else. Don't mess around with the vagina, it needs taken care of.

you could have a vaginal disease ( might wanna get it checked out by your doc or gyno if old enough) but also, you might just be sweating if you work out a bit. Try trimming your pubic hair down to 1/4 in. to keep it sanitary. If smell still persists, seek medical attention form ur doc or gyno as said before. if you need any more help, contact me at th3advic3givrr@aol.com

It is probably due to an infection, go see a Dr. and get some antibiotics for it, just don't let it go because infections can cause infertility and other problems.
