The site below is free and you can get a birth chart that you can print. You can get up to 4 for free but then you can delete some to make more.
If your mom is really into it, may I suggest a gift for her. There is a book called "The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need". It is about $16 at Barnes and Noble and comes with a cd program for your computer to make birth charts. It's a fun book and program that is reasonably priced and she won't need to go online anymore. She can make charts and interpret them herself!
Another really interesting book is called "The New Astrology". About $15 at B&N. It actually has 144 different signs because it is a blend of Eastern and Western Astrologies. Quite intriguing.

You know, if you figure out the meaning of the various houses, the general meaning of transits of various planets/etc though those houses, and if you know your birth time/location and understand your Ascentant represents 'outward' reality while your solar chart is "subjective" reality, then you can do way better than many for-pay services just using free online websites.
There are other sites that do major planety transits to you natal chart based only one your date of birth, but those aren't always that useful because they presume that you are the critter represented by your birth chart, but a lot has happened to you since you were born.
