The government cannot make the world a nicer place if the people in the world is not nice. But guess what the gospel of Jesus Christ preached and accepted by the pple of the world is the only thing that would make the world 'a nice place to live in'

...If you are nice and your neighbour is nice, there would not be a conflict between you or anybody. You can start now by being nice to make the world a better place for the next coming generation. ps

I won't have to do a thing and wouldn't do anything to change what is happening now if I could. Justice and peace established on the earth would help but only if people are spiritual. In other words, if people embrace the virtues and are taught that from birth along with the acceptance of the Messenger from God for their time then the earth will be peopled by friends and the lovers of God.

Nothing impure will enter the Kingdom of God on earth. So there will have to be a purification. The people who remain will be cleansed of their impure thoughts. There will be a catastrophe as it is necessary for the purification to take place. Revelations and the prophets foretold the day. The Holy Quran foretells the day. The Glory of God, Baha'u'llah Ez. 43:1-7 foretold the day. We can reject it but what good will it do to reject an utter certainty.
Most who have seen that a catastrophe must happen did not know the approximate timing. The timing of the catastrophe can be divined by watching world events, understanding the prophecies of all religions and knowing and accepting the Message for your day.

As for the rapture, it has come and gone. The thief came in the night and took the jewels (people who were waiting for him) while you slept. If you pinch yourself awake now, and with Gods help, come to understand, who knows, it may not be too late.

Governments really only have one objective and that is to keep themselves in power and even though politicians may make all sorts of wonderful promises while trying to get elected they will soon abandon them when in power. You only need to look at how the government lied to us about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq to see that these people are not to be trusted and that they have their own secret agenda.

If you really want to make a difference then my suggestion to you is to make a monthly contribution to a charity that you support as charities are set up specifically to improve life in certain areas.

You can make your donation under the gift aid scheme. This means that for every 78p you give to charity the government will make an additional 22p making a total of £1. Therefore if you give £7.80 a month to a charity of your choice and you elect for it to come under the gift aid scheme the charity will actually receive £10 a month. However, for the gift aid scheme to apply in your case you will need to be a taxpayer yourself, and pay at least the amount of the tax relief which the charity will claw back from the government.

Go on make it your new years resolution. Even if you only give £1 a month to your favourite charity it will all help to make the world a nicer place.

Im probably going to get a lot of stick for this one but here goes anyway. I belive one of the things that is stopping the world being a nice place is religion. Every single one belives theirs is the one true religion / god. This in turn leads to arguments which turns into sheer nastines and can lead to war. As the world will never agree on this subject it will never be a nice place to live in.

The answer is simple, but as with so many things in life, people (especially politicians and government world-wide) have their own agendas that do not entail being or doing those things that are for the highest and best good of all.

At our core, all people need the basics of food, shelter, clothing, and love. Somehow, in this crazy world, many of us in the 1st World (mainly USA, Europe, now spreading into China, parts of India, and South America) have decided that the key to a happy life is MORE, MORE, MORE. Heck, we even have a president that tells us to just get out and shop to help our economy. How sick is that? To make matters worse, MORE does not necessairly lead to happiness once our basic needs are met, but to, well, making us want even MORE, often with no regard for peace, world ecology, and the well-being of our fellow man.

In the meantime, people in the third world just want those basics of food, clothing, shelter, and good health for themselves and their children. Instead of asking MORE for ourselves, why are we not wanting for everyone what we want for ourselves, i.e., happiness? Here is the simplicity: The Golden Rule---wanting happiness for everyone and treating everyone as we ourselves want to be treated. If I could wave my magic wand, I would wish that everyone would feel and understand this. If we saw everyone's child as our child, everyone's pain and hunger as our own pain and hunger, then the world would change in an instant.

Peace is not the absence of war, but the unification of Heaven and Earth. This is what we must aim for, and it must begin with developing true compassion, which means meeting the basic needs of all.

The right to ignore people, the right to be left alone, the eradication of untruth... 'One world well fed, at peace, treated fairly' (Ken Kesey: 'Demon Box') ‘Ignorance is King. Many would not profit by his abdication. Many enrich themselves and perpetuate their power by means of his dark monarchy. They are his court, and in his name they defraud and govern, enrich themselves and perpetuate their power: even literacy they fear… if you would have us hampered by blind adherence, unreasoned dogma, then you would prefer to leave the world in the same dark ignorance and superstition that you say your order has struggled against. Nor could we ever overcome famine, disease, or misbirth, or make the world one bit better than it has been for the last twelve centuries.’ (Walter Millar: ‘A Last Canticle For Liebowitz’)

Be a benevolent dictator and cater to the people of the world. Make fair rules, be fair to your people, help others, combine all the nations to solve conflict. Decrease taxes in industrial areas. Listen to the people.
