core system does not have xl but pro system does!

The silver membership is free, but the gold membership is free for the first 30 days. After the first month, you'll have to pay for it. I think it's a great deal since it's only a little over 4 bucks a month.

xbox live is free if you dont want to play games. You get 30 days of a gold account for free then you have to buy a year for 50 bucks or your account turns silver. hope this helps
