Which of the Dreamgirls performances do you think was better, Jennifer Holliday or Jennifer Hudson.

LOL, Jaffy, Billie Holiday did NOT sing that song. Billie Holiday died in 1959...LONG before Dreamgirls came to Broadway.
To answer the original question: it's tough to say in my opinion. I didn't see Jennifer Holiday perform the song, but I did hear it and she was amazing. I think I was more "touched" by Jennifer Hudson's performance because I saw and heard her performance. Just seeing the emotion made it a much more pleasurable experience for me.
My mother on the other hand, saw the original Dreamgirls on Broadway and she's biased towards Jennifer Holliday, but she also thinks Hudson's performance was amazing. I saw her wiping tears while she watched. :)

It was Billie Holliday who sung it and I think Jennifer Hudson is better!!!
