Look for your nearest PFLAG group, that's Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. It will help you to understand and support him. Especially his rights in this world.

PFLAG

Just look for a local chapter! Good luck!

Unfortunately kids will pick on each other for just about any reason. Because of your child's sexuality he's in a worse situation. Start taking him to LGBT youth groups in your area. PFLAG is everywhere and if they can't help, they'll probably know of a group in your area that can. Also, make sure the school has sexual orientation in it's anti-harassment policy and that it is being enforced. If you find the kids that TPed the house, press vandalism charges. Let people know that you will not let your child be harassed and find safe groups for your child to be around.so that he accepts himself for who he is and isn't afraid to be himself.

Ok, the first thing to say is kudos for you for supporting your son through this and being tolerant. You're a much-needed rock for him.

Also, be glad that these days that there's plenty you can do for him and that there a more laws on his side. If you haven't reported the toilet paper incident to the police, do so. Have you gone to speak to the school principal about that is going on? More and more school boards these days have anti-discrimination laws that cover sexual orientation, so they have to follow them. Also check to see if your son's school has a GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance). If not, suggest that your son start one. He can do so with the straight and gay friends he has already plus a supportive teacher (Most GSA's require a teacher present). This way, he'll have a support network while at school. You can also look up the GLSEN (The Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network) website to get more information. For good measure, I'd also investigate where a gay youth group would be in your area that your son can go to. Just look up "Gay Youth" and the city or state you live in a search engine to find out. The more support your son has in and out of school, the better. For your own benefit, I would find out if there's a PFLAG (Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) in your area. This way, you'll meet other parents of gay kids who are going through the same thing you are and ask them for advice or support.

There's PFLAG, as above, and there may also be other groups in your area specifically for youth. Pflag can probably refer you to other services in the area.
