At 48 my sex life went totally the other way! But honestly I don't think anyone is normal. We all seem to grow and change differently.

Many women aren't as interested in sex as they approach menopause. But there is help out there in the form of new hormone treatments. There is much controversy, however, as to the safety of these treatments.

I also think much of it has to do with the satisfaction women experience in their relationships and no drug can replace that.

So I don't think that anyone can predict how someone else might feel or react to sex as they get older. I think the thing to do is to stay healthy, love your partner and try to keep a good attitude about you. Sex is in your head after all, and not really in your body.

though i'm still a few years away from that number 45 i thing we all go through mid life crisis at just varying degrees. if they do and they are not hurting anyone more power to them. it takes alot more to act like a teenager at 45 then it does to be a teenager. at the end of the day we still have arthritis, heartburn and all the bills we accumulated.

I always heard that a woman reaches her sexual peak in her 40s. Hurray for my husband! lol I have several more years to go yet til I'm 40, but it gives us more to look forward to. ;-)

Your friend should talk to her gynecologist (I've read something about female viagra - don't know if it's available or not) and try new things. Toys and such.

My husband and I are in our 50's. We are very active in this area and things just keep getting better and better. We feel free to explore more possibilities now that the kids are grown and out of the house.

nope--not at all. If there is a lesser sexual drive there may be a health issue or perhaps the feelings of intamacy have changed for her.
