do they continue being gypsies or do they blend in with everybody else? how come i never see any gypsies except a couple of fortune teller parlors in manhattan?

They steal from old people.They go around and accept money for roof repairs and putting in new driveways and then disappear with the money.
I doubt that this is true--- and surely isn't true for all gypsies--- but I've heard of this.

They find other gypsies, form larger groups and proceed to work out elaborate schemes to rob as many people as possible. Then they teach their children to do the same (after all it's a family participation program).
Then they dance and celebrate and set things on fire.

My understanding is that the strong level of xenophobia in gypsy culture makes it so that they are pretty much underground in any culture they live in. Most places children are required by law to go to school, but Roma parents don't necessarily trust the outsider schools to teach their children; this causes cultural conflict. I suspect that they travel around and try to keep under the radar like they do in pretty much any place.

A friend showed me where the gypsies live in SC, WOW Big mansions and all of them appear to be empty. Spooky

they just blend in and u would nt even notice they are there even if they are!
btw consider ureself lucky they tend to be trouble makers as we all know.
italy and spain are ridden :S
