It is really serious. He could have a blood clot, onsetting of a stroke or heart attack, or it could be that his BP is super high. He should have gone to the hospital, since he has medical history of high BP. He should now go to the doctor and see what is wrong. I'm not trying to scare u, but this might happen again and he might not wake up. Go To The Doctor!!!

Just simply MARCH him to a DOCTOR! Not small by ANY MEANS! Get a doctor appt. in the next day or 2. Nothing beyond 2 days.If you cant get a doctor before 2 days are over, then get him to a walk-in clinic, or even emergency. If he is still sick ,do get him to a doctor NOW! High blood pressure is NOT A TOY TO PLAY WITH!

Fainting is a sudden drop in blood pressure. It is also due to loss of blood flow to the brain. Here are some reasons that fainting occurs"

Is he diabetic? If he went low he could faint.

Does he eat enough? Being overly hungry can cause one to faint.

Does he eat too much? Were his arteries clogged? This causes blood-flow to be nearly impossible.

Dehydration causes fainting.

Did he recently have alot of alchohol?

He could have had a heart attack.

Was he hyperventalating?

It could have been related to fear, severe pain, or emotional distress

Was he standing in one place for far too long?

Was he bleeding so much that he lost too much blood?

It could be due to coughing too much.

Maybe he was overly anxious.

Also, your family may have a history of simultaieous fainting.

That is the summary I created. Here is the list directly off of the web site I found:

Common Causes Return to top

Fainting may occur while you are urinating, having a bowel movement (especially if straining), coughing strenuously, or when you have been standing in one place too long. Fainting can also be related to fear, severe pain, or emotional distress.

A sudden drop in blood pressure can cause you to faint. This may happen if you are bleeding or severely dehydrated. It can also happen if you stand up very suddenly from a lying position.

Certain medications may lead to fainting by causing a drop in your blood pressure or for another reason. Common drugs that contribute to fainting include those used for anxiety, high blood pressure, nasal congestion, and allergies.

Other reasons you may faint include hyperventilation, use of alcohol or drugs, or low blood sugar.

Less common but more serious reasons include heart disease (like abnormal heart rhythm or heart attack) and stroke.

These are all of the reasons that fainting could occur.
I hope that helps. :)

I'm a nurse. Yes dear you should worry about your brother. He has something going wrong in his body. Stress could very well be the cause of it but he should see a doctor just in case. Often these are warning signs for us to get the help we need before things get worse. I would encourage him to be seen, it might save him grief latter. Take care

Tell your brother how much you care about him and advise that he check his meds and see a dr about what happened. What happens if he passes out behind the wheel of a car next time? Reason with him that way, but remember, you cannot force him to do anything about it. All you can do is advise and show you care. He has to want to do something for himself.
