ok, rey needed surgery on his knee before the whole feud with chavo started. rey had a brace on his knee when he got hit, so more than likely chavo hit the brace. they sold it as a rey getting hurt during the match as a way to explain rey's absentness from Smackdown. most of the time, injuries suffered during a show r a way to explain a superstar's absentness. so to answer ur question, yes, it was fake, but the damage had been done way before the match took place. joey mercury's injury was real.

Third... It was scripted. Come on..you already know it is fake. The injury was fake, Chavo kept hitting the railing next to Rey's knee.. not the actual knee itself. Rey did have surgery, it was due to previous injuries and just wear and tear that wrestling has caused to his knee throughout the years.

Rey Mysterio knee was already injured before the match. It was scripted.It also provide an explanation for rey mysterio departure from the wwe for a short while due to the fact that he has to do surgery on his knee.

it was an existing injury. the match was made to give a storyline to get him off the air. No company would allow people to intentionally hurt a co worker.
