Avoid staining drinks and food for one... (blueberries, coffee, tea, etc...)
If you do have them brush your teeth thoroughly right after.
All you can really do is brush your teeth with a whitening toothpaste after every meal and drink.
Use a brush called an "end brush" it looks like one third of the bristles of a regular toothbrush it really gets in there by the brackets.
Don't brush hard just take your time, do it gently but thoroughly... and don't forget to floss even though it's a pain in the butt.
Also get a whitening mouthwash... it also will help... don't drink or eat at least 45 minutes after using the mouthwash.
Hope you know you shouldn't use any of the tooth whitening gels or strips...it may interfere with the bonding agent on your brackets and cause more problems than it's worth.
All you should do is maintain how white your teeth were before the brackets.

DONT! I did this, and where the braces are stuck, everything was white except for the part where the braces were, then I had to go get them whitened by my dentist to hide them. When i got my braces off it looked like i still had them on cause everything was white except where they were glued
