well if you TRULY want to be unique , I would reccomend NOT getting a tatto as is seems so cliche and ho hum boring, to have a lizard above your butt or a butterfly on your ankle. or some silly symbol on you belly
break free and think for yourself. How abut some sort of jewelry.
or, if you need some glaring outward symbol each of you shave the opposite sides of your head and then when you walk together you will have a full head of hair !! now THAT would be unique and really say something

Why a tattoo? Why not something else that symbolizes your bond?
I like the response that involves jewelery- you could get pendants or rings. You can design them yourselves and have them custom made at specialty jewelers. This is safe, sanitary and won't affect your body later in life. Think about it.

Well, it would be an original tattoo, I think. However, you will see it nearly everyday. I'm thinking of the Caduceus. With the two serpents wrapped around the staff, it could symbolize the both of you and your bound relationship.

I think you should both get "I'm with stupid" with an arrow. The tattoos should be on your shoulder blades and the top of your back. Her's can point to the left and your's to the right. That way when you walk on the beach or whatever and everyone can see the tattoos your's can point to her and her's can point to you.

You should consider something that you would be willing to have on your bodies fourty years later, not just now. How about a yin symbol and a yang symbol?
