i like smoky eyes too and my brown eyes are not too big either. here's a suggested method of mine:
- First sweep a light shade like sliver, cream or peach over the entire lid, right up to the eyebrows.
- Next blend a slightly darker shade like middle grey over the eyelid and into the socket line.
- To accentuate the effect, you can wet the applicator and apply a dark shade for your brown eyes like navy blue or grey along the socket line of the upper lid and underneath the lower lashes. For a sparkling party look, try a glittery eyeshadow!!!

Next step line eyes along the top, bottom and inner rim of the lashes with a soft, smudgy eye pencil. For the finishing touch, brush your lashes with your favorite mascara. if you want a more rocker look, apply a few more coats, dont be embarrassed to let people see the clumpy thick lashes, this makes it stands out. nothing have to be perfect, i hope my suggestion makes you rock!

Smoky eyes will actually make your eyes look smaller because dark colours make things smaller. If you want a smoky look without your eyes looking small, use a copper eyeshadow. Copper looks great with brown eyes and it reflects light so your eyes will look big. Start by applying the eyeshadow to the entire lid of your eye (from lashes into the crease). Next take a big eyeshadow blending brush and blend the crease of your lid. Blend the shadow moving up. What it should look like is a dark copper on your lid and then the copper fading into your skin towards your eyebrow. Then take a DARK brown eyeliner and smudge it into your lashes (top and bottom). If you want, you can use your eyeshadow blending brush, with a little bit of the copper shadow to blend the eyeliner into your lashes. Next, use a thick, black mascara and apply two coats.

Find a dark brown/gray eye shadow. Apply a good amount to the area just above the crease. Blend up. Apply to lower lash area also. (Brushes work a million times better than those standard applicators.) Leave lids bare; arch area too. Use dark liner. Line rims if eyes aren't too sensitive.

you dont need a lot of black eyeliner. apply it on the lower lid only, on the inside of the lid and along the lashes. if you like, get some black eyeshadow M.a.c and chanel are good brands. In combination with that, you can make your eyes open up and look bigger by putting white or pearl eyeshadow right below the eyebrow.
