In this book that I just got done reading, it says that ears are like a "self-cleaning" oven that does not require routine cleaning. Earwax would find its way out thanks to things like body heat and gravity. If there is wax on the outer ear, then it's good to clean. Just don't stick the Q-Tip inside the ear canal. Otherwise, wax could get compacted and require medical treatments for relief.

In a way it is because one:if u dig to deep u can pop your eardrum. Two:your body makes earwax to help prevent ear infections/stop foreign objects from getting into your ear therefore caisung ear infections.Thats why you should just clean all of the ear wax from the outside part of your ear.And not dig deep down in your ear.

yes...you should if you clean out all the wax and clean your ears constantly you are more subject to ear infections..ear wax is a sweat and acts as a protectant against foreign bodies..

My doctor told me it is bad because the wax is suppose to come out by itself you are not suppose to put q tips in your ears because it just pushes the wax in further.

I don't think it matters either way. But do be careful with Q-tips. It is possible to damage your hearing by sticking things in your ears. I'd try to do the majority of my wax removal by using your shampooing suds when you are showing.

yes ear wax acts like an barrier to things coming into your ear, plus by over cleaning you are pushing it higher into ear canal you risk rupturing your eardrums
