N series wireless adapters will have greater range even when you are connecting to older devices, and Netgear has the best N series devices.

I know Wireless-N has the furthest range, but then you'd have to replace all of the components and computers on your network with new Wireless-N DRAFT devices. Go with RangeMax, or MIMO. Also try a Wireless-G Bridge Extender. It picks up a wireless signal, and retransmits it for further range. You should place it somewhere in the middle of your expected range. (If it's houses away, you might wanna ask a neighbor).

it all varies and depends on other things, like mobile phones, satelitte dishes, cordless phones that give off a signal, wireless cards run of the same frequency as the phone, i think it is 13. but all these and more play apart in how far your wireless card can go without getting an interruption, but the distance is between 80 - 100 metres if i remeber correctly.
