I done both also. When I was pregnant I would go to sleep, but now that they are old enough to stay up, then I stay up with them.

For the last few years I have been sleeping in. Just can't seem to stay awake that long anymore. My wife stays up so that she can call her Mother at midnight. Have a Happy New year.

For many years I stayed up & enjoyed it very much. After awhile, it wasn't so much fun anymore & I realized that I was doing it just because it had become a habit. Now, I don't stay up to ring it in unless I just happen to be in the mood & be up late for other reasons. Awake or asleep, time marches on.

I stay up. And eat junk food with my family. We watch TV to see the live brodcast of the ball dropping in Times Square, even though we're in a different time zone, meaning the ball drops an hour early. But it's still fun. :)
