OMG I do that everyday. I think that if I could just let go, I would lead a better quality of life. I hate having fears, they drag me down.

Actually, I really am a very uninhibited person.

Even with my churchy people, I pretty much just let it all hang out.

If someone gets on my nerves in traffic, I lean out the window nad tell them they need to take driver's ed again. If someone makes a snide remark to me, I ask them if they have anything nice to say.

It's much easier to "be yourself" and let people know how you think. You find out where other people's limits and you find out how strong or weak people's egos are.

I don't have to be rude, just be direct and say what I really mean and I feel a whole lot better about things....like I am having an effect on the world around me.

The only advantage to getting older is that one begins to realise that there is little point wasting time/energy/emotions on people one doesn't like or may never see again. It means you dont have to send xmas cards to lots of people, you can say no when people ask you to do something you don't want to, and you can 'wear purple, with a red hat that doesn't go.....' But I fear one is still concerned about how others see one.

yes i have always wanted to quit working and quit paying bills and hitchhike to california and do odd jobs so that i can eat and otherwise do whatever i want. i will probably go back across the US and then go to other coutries. i think that it would be so great to wake up every morning knowing that nothing can hold me back and that there is no one that is the boss of me!

its nice to let go sometimes but havin control thorughout is important !!
u are ahead of it all ! sometimes it is just good to suck up to what ppl think just for your own benefit.
only those who have nothing to loose let go completely....

even the backpacker who does odd jobs and travel the world does not let go completely, sometimes he sucks up to make friends to seek directions and to seek companionship.

my point is you only need to be concerned when you are concerned / when u benefit! otherwise u can let loose completely and do what u pls and this by no means implies doing evil or hurting ppl

I think it's a rare human being indeed who has never been tempted to let go... I mean, isn't that what enlightenment is all about?

No. I'm a control freak.
If you're a human being (and I think you are) you'll find that we humans like some kind of order in our lives.

human insecurity keeps that from happening, we all want to but never will.
