Do they always open coffins in the USA? Only we dont do it here in the UK. It looks really creepy.

No the coffin isn't always open - but most of the time it is.

Some only open the coffin during the wake.

I would prefer they don't open it at all. Seems a little odd that one would want to see a dead person.

No they do a lot of make-up and prep before showing the dead corpse. Yes it is creepy sometime's. I think it's good for closure though. Being able to say goodbye and actually touch the.

he's at the apollo theater or something like that so that all his fans can come see him.
actually it is a very common practice here in the states unless thebody is badly ruined from a car wreck or something

For some famous people they do but that's only if the family will allow it. I know for elvis presley they did.
