I'm with ya! This is the first year I'm not going out, but I'm kind of happy to stay at home and not spend the obscene amounts of money that NYC bars demand.
It's not the end of the world.

I haven't gone out for New Year's for the last four years....I miss it, but it's not worth getting into trouble over (DUI, etc.)

that would b us. there is no good place with our kind of music anywhere nearby, so we'll just watch the ball fall on tv,maybe, and then off to dreamland.
