Why do people ask questions on yahoo answers?

When they could search the web for the answer? Is it just laziness?

Remember that people can search Yahoo answers for answers to questions they have just like Googling and such. So without Yahoo Questions there would be no answers for people to look up. '-)

Probley. The questions I'v asked are either opinion needed questions or an answer I didn't find searching the net.

how can you say it is laziness...they still have to type out their question, then come back to yahoo to find out the answers...whereas if they went straight on the web they would get the answer quicker..Ugh...

For me, it's to get a different point of view or an answer a person can only get from personal experience. Also, sometimes people e-mail & you can have a discussion about it.

there are many reasons people ask questions here. you just did. i'm betting it wasn't because you're lazy.

if you look something up you're just getting facts. if you ask something here you're getting the opinions of other people.

i really enjoy reading the questions and answers of others. sometimes it's nice to know that there are others like yourself out there.

December 27, 2006 Beloved fellow Americans, allow me to congratulate you with the holidays that you celebrate in the last month of 2006. I do not say the names of this holiday for I do not want to offend anyone’s religion or national beliefs. I wish your families peace, prosperity in work and school, and peace and safety for our entire country.
Sixteen years has already flown by since I left the former Soviet Union. As we all know the former Soviet Union no longer excites, but fragments of its system have ended up all over the world including here in the United States. To this day, I am still shocked at those that bring this system to American soil and try to enforce it here.
The last living example of how the tactics of Stalin’s regime are being used I witnessed on Television. An example of Stalin’s tactics can be seen in how our brother the rabbi threatened to sue an airport administration if they did not take down a Christmas tree they had in their airport. In the former Soviet Union the same tactics were used by the communist leaders and government. By the commands of these leaders the doors of synagogues and churches where closed. Spiritual literature and property were confiscated, and the believers were often thrown in jail. Because of fear of prosecution many believers were forced to celebrate their holiday’s underground. Meanwhile the American people protested against the ways the leaders of the former Soviet Union treated believers, and the believers of the former Soviet Union were thanking God for the American people who supported them. It is a surprise to see that here in the US communist tactics are being used sometimes by ACLU, rabbis, pastors and priests who fight against religious articles, Christmas trees and religious symbols. We can even see how priests and pastors persecute and terrorize those who convict and rebuke them for there immoral behavior. The sad thing is, is that pastors and priests terrorize and persecute in brad daylight with out feeling shame or guilt.
I understand why al Qaeda does not like believers and the United States in general. But I have a hard time understanding why our brother the rabbi who disapproves of believers who decorate Christmas trees in memory of the Son of God, whom he himself serves. Our brother the rabbi does this even though many believers support the existence of Israel. Many believers sacrificed themselves during the holocaust to save Jews. Why does the rabbi not take into consideration those believers who helped the victims of 9-11-2001? And why not consider those believers who died in the line of duty in Afghanistan and in Iraq, and those believers who are still risking there life’s in Iraq and Afghanistan so that the events of 9-11 do not occur again, and so that the rabbi and I can live in safety? It is safe to say that God does not really need Christmas trees and Menorahs, especially if those putting them up do not have love towards there neighbors, and this is known very well by all pastors, rabbis and priests.
The action of my brother the rabbi was a huge shock to many. The fact that he could scare all the employees in that airport with out spending a penny and nor using any weapons. Can this be considered a holy spiritual war, or holy spiritual terrorism against believers? And my brother the rabbi was capable of winning this war, which in his eyes was a holy one. Even though our brother the rabbi lives in a democratic country he has not yet realized the true cost of democracy, peace and security. In the former Soviet Union rabbis were killed because they read from the Torah and light a Menorah, and Christian were killed because they read from Gospel and decorated Christmas trees. And at that time believers of the Torah and the believers of the Gospel never even tried to scare each other with law suits.
Actions like this do not bring peace but only the opposite, suspicion and hatred between fellow citizens. In this case only the Green Party won, and now they know that next year there will be one less Christmas tree cut down. If our brother the rabbi demanded the Christmas tree be removed because he is member of the Green Party, than I support him. The reason why I support him in this case is because the Green Party tries to protect the things that God gave us to support us, and we can always switch over to artificial Christmas trees. But if me brother the rabbi demanded that the Christmas tree be removed because of his holy spiritual war than I have a request for him, as the victor. First of all, I wont to congratulate you in the victory of your holy war against this Christmas tree, and secondly please do not leave that space empty, where the Christmas tree was suppose to be. And as a sign of your victory over the Christmas tree let your Menorah with all of its decorations take its place. And please decorate it in such a way that I, as a sinner, and everyone else would always desire to be around it and find joy in it. And so that it can remind me always to love Gods commandments, love my neighbor and not only think about myself. And if one Menorah is not enough to do all of this, then set as many Menorahs as needed. And if my help is needed, I am willing to help. Also, let the Law of Mosses be written on the Menorah. In addition please add verses from Torah that will make me and other people feel ashamed to ruin some ones holidays, and so that we will always be encouraged by them to only do good to people without looking at their beliefs. And so that everyone who sees this Menorah would be changed into a better person. Once again, to my brother the rabbi, please do not leave any empty spaces where Christmas trees are suppose to be, for some one who does not like the Christmas tree and Menorah might take that place and put a missile decorated with explosives and grenades in stead of Christmas ornaments. We all know that this can happen, because these people are already prepared for this in USA. But let us all try to prevent this from happening in our country. I hope that in the year 2007, if I am still alive, I can see on the same television channel you my brother the rabbi and your beautiful and shinny Menorah. My God bless all of us and our country.
