(Let's just assume you can do this.)

Let's also just ignore paradoxes. I've had lots of conversations about these and while they and speculation about what you can and can't do and how many universes there are are interesting, I'm more curious from a sociological point of view what people would try to do with this power if they had it, e.g. visit departed loved ones, make money, fix their past (and how they would go about doing these things).

I wouldn't return. I would just re-live the experiences. But, before I went, I would look at the people around me and see which ones faced trouble or sadness in those six months and would be there for them this time. I would either make time to be available or I would use my knowledge to help them confront the problem they are trying to avoid.

1. It's not gambling when you KNOW who's going to win.
2. If it was possible, you couldn't do anything. Because if you did, the past would be different than it is now, which would mean you would not have been here to go into the past. For example, you couldn't kill your "other you" in the past, because you wouldn't be here-now to make the trip to kill yourself. By similar reasoning, you couldn't kill anyone. Or anything. Or DO anything of any consequence. The only thing you could do would be to observe.

Probably find all the USA military people that got killed in Iraq and tell them not to go. And tell James Brown not to put off seeing his dentist.

do absolutely nothing and watch. ANYTHING that i do can cause a dramatic chain-effect.
think this-
if a butterfly flapped it's wing in china, started a new air current, could it possibly grow into a supercell of twisters in the US?

In fact, this is possible, Thanks to me... I invented a time machine and gave it to the government for 25 thousand dollars... You should try to invent one for fellow man.. I would've, but a lot of people said they would use it to taste different kinds of beer... So I decided to give it to our fellow government... instead of fellow man..
Please make one, follow in my footsteps because.. You do remind me of myself. I know I say that to a lot of young scientists.. But YOU really do remind me of me...
