I admit we Yankee fans are a bit rude. But now you're saying that Red Sox fans aren't rude? Why can't we just all stop the insulting and get along with each other? We're not the Yankees and we're not the Red Sox. We're just fans of both teams, and fans can't do anything about how the teams play or what decisions the teams make. So I'm asking politely, can you please just stop the insulting and get along? The Yankees might be better than the Red Sox or it could be vice versa and I am not choosing a side in this argument, so just deal with the fact that there are some Yankee fans that are rude. That is just how they live their life. Anyway, for the Yankees fans that curse, a day not cursing is a day wasted. An hour not cursing is an hour wasted. It is how rude they really are, but I am not like that. I am asking the question, Why can't Red Sox fans and Yankees fans just get along with each other? We can't control the teams, we aren't the manager or general managers of the teams. We aren't the players on the teams. We can't control how good the teams play or how bad they play. And we certainly can't change the past, so once again, I am asking very politely that we both (Red Sox fans and Yankees fans) just get along with each other, since there is nothing we could do about the teams and we can't control them, unless we became a staff on one of those teams. Thank you and have a nice day.

according to mlb.com hitting wise for last year, they are about even in everything from at bats, to avg, on base %. Though as an a's fan big papi was way more clutch than arod will every be. big papi walks more and arod strikes out more.

arod is not a natural 3rd baseman. And it shows. He committed 24 errors last year. Which is more than the four previous seasons combined. He only had 38 errors at SS in the three years he played with the rangers. He was way better at SS.

I would be more afraid of facing big papi if I were pitching to him.

However you cannot really compare the two equally as one is primarily a hitter and the other is out there 165 days a year for 9 innings. which do you value more? DH or 3rd baseman?

His name is not Gay Rod it is Alex Rodriguez, lets not forget who won the 2005 MVP. I will tell you what's gay, supporting a 500 pound man who cant even play in the field. any Boston fan who owns an ortiz jersey can NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER say ANYTHING about Alex Rodriguez's fielding, let's ask ourselves, Who will be the one who actually makes it to the hall of fame? Not Ortize, A-Rod.
Ortiz has only been good for a few years, and is the same age as a-rod. It is sort of strange how he goes to boston and is now amazing, when he SUCKED with Minnesota, ironic, isnt it?
Your team is so bad, that a man getting paid $20,000,000 a year, who is loved by the city, hates playing there. Meanwhile in New York, everybody hates A-Rod, but he still wants to be a Yankee, otherwise, he would have dropped his no-trade clause. Put that is your pipe and smoke it!

A-rod was good as a mariner and a ranger at shortstop and for whoever says that hes good at fielding is wrong he had so many costly errors this season for Yankees so basically what I'm saying is Yankees fans are lying to themselves when they say they'd rather have A-rod over Ortiz big papi's The one hitting all those clutch base hits walk off home runs and if you ask me in The bottom of the 9th inning id rather have David Ortiz stepping up to the plate rather that a-rod

A-Rod is the better player. He plays third base, not DH. He won the 2005 MVP as a Yankee as well as the 2003 MVP with the Texas Rangers. It doesn't matter who he hits behind in the lineup, he is a threat to get a big hit. Ortiz however produces more because he hits behind Manny. Without Manny, Ortiz's numbers wouldn't be so good. Ortiz needs Manny to produce big numbers. A-Rod will have big numbers no matter who he his hitting behind.

******sorry, i dont know who gay rod is, but he must be better than that lard in boston that plays half of the games and criticizes those that are actually athletic for not having bodies made of hot dog. lets compare him to -A--rod, who is clearly better than ortiz in every possible way, and I MEAN EVERY way!!! shall we recall 2005 MVP, it shouldnt have even been close and 2006, clearly, he wasnt even deserving of 3rd place oh brother.... why did u ask this question??

arod is without question the better defensive player, and he does have a very good bat as well. however he's one of many athletes who doesn't perform well under pressure (huge difference in stats between him playing for seattle/texas and new york). personally i think thats the most important thing when determining who is a great player versus a very good one.

ortiz is known for coming through in the clutch, making him imo a more valuable player. granted he doesn't play well defensively, but he doesn't need to in the AL, especially on the sox while they have youkillis at first.

considering they don't play the same position there's not really a fair answer to it though.

If we are going get into a grammer war, then when you spell Ortiz it should have a capital letter at the beginning.....And I have a question for you oh educated one, How early in his carrer did the Big POOOOPIE hit a milestone homerun??????I believe that A rod has been the youngest to hit several milestone marks....
