It most cases I say yes, but not in cases of rape, abandonment, or mental/physical/financial abuse against the woman, or other children.

When I was a teenager, I said absolutely. In theory, it is his child too and he should have a say.

But, as an adult, I've got to say no. In reality, a father can walk away any time he wants to with little or no consequences. It's not his body that takes the abuse for nine months. It's not his physical life that might be in jeopardy if the pregnancy goes wrong. For most families, it's not his life that needs the most dramatic shifting when the baby comes. Mom is still the one who bears the brunt of child-rearing, even in today's "enlightened" era.

And in the end, if raising a kid is too much trouble, the father can walk with little or no real consequences. He might get stuck with paying child support, that is, if the mother can track him down. But, biological fathers can often get away with little more effect on their lifestyle than a change of address.

Ditto on the answer that if he didn't want the child, he should have purchased a condom. And if he did want the child, sorry, you're still not the one with the most to risk.

I think so, he cannot force her to have an abortion because that's is wrong and she shouldn't have an abortion if he wants the child. It's a tricky situation because if both have different opinion on what to do w/ the child then it'll be hard to come to a conclusion. But in the end the women has to carry the child

I think so, it is his child too. But does he plan on having an active part of the child's life if it's born? If not, then i would say no.
There are other options aside for abortion. But i think an active father should have a say-so.

Yes I do think that the father should have a say in it.

I have a friend who had gotten his g/f pregnant and she never told him she went and had an abortion and he found out later after she had it done. And he was crushed. He asked her why she didn't say anything to him. She was afraid he would be angry, and went and had the abortion. He since has married and has kids with his wife, (not his g/f that he had gotten pregnant), after he heard the news of his g/f having the abortion they broke up.

He's a great father to his kids he has with his wife.

So yes I deffinatly think the father should have a say in it.

Also this is my opinion as a father of 3 beautiful children. abortion is wrong, it's murder.

Also if people don't want to have babies. If your married practice safe sex, if your not married. DON'T HAVE SEX!!! Use absitnance, it works EVERY time it's tried. If your not married wait till your married to have sex.

Absolutely. This child is his as well. Just because he can't carry it doesn't mean he doesn't have rights to it. Once the baby is born he has rights, why shouldn't he while it's in the womb? I believe the father should be informed before the decision is made so he can decide whether he will take full repsponsibility for the child after birth.

Overall, I believe yes. But the law says it's her body. It will also affect her more psychologically if she does it so if a man wants her to have the abortion, he is also saying IN A WAY that he cares less about her emotional/psychological well-being and more about the fact that he doesn't have to be daddy yet. The pregnant mom's mental and physical well-being is far more important.

you are entitled to your opinion of course, but it is the "females" body... therefore she has entitlement over her actions. Do I think men should be able to force a woman to have an abortion? NO.

sorry, your drop your pants be prepared for what happens... if having kids really freaks you out, go get fixed. It is a simple procedure and you won't have to worry about impregnating women.

I think that he should have a say in it and the two people should come to an agreement together but ultimately it will be up to the women because she is going to be the one carrying the child inside her.

Personally, I say yes. I mean, some times the dad wants the baby and would take it and have sole custody of it. However, should the man change his mind after the baby is born, then what?

This is a tough, tough question.
