The same thing happened to me when I was 16. It turned out to be a hormonal problem.
For some girls, it can be stress.

You can either wait a couple of years for your body to settle down (a girl's periods usually are well settled at 18) or you can see a Gyn for help now. He/she would examine you and find out what the problem is, then treat it. If it's hormones, you'll be given the pill to keep your schedule regular.

You didn't say how old you are, and even more important, you didn't say how long you've been having periods.

It takes a woman's body 2 - 3 years to develop what for that woman is a normal cycle, a cycle as regular as it will get. So, if you reached menarche (first period) within the last couple of years or so, I wouldn't be particularly worried.

Also, it's not unusual to skip a period withouth any apparent cause. If you were sexually active and skipped a period, then of course the most likely answer is a pregnancy. Sexual activity, though, is far more than vaginal intercourse. And if live sperm gets anywhere near your vaginal opening, you could still conceive. So, if you have a boyfriend and the two of you have been doing some exploring, it still might be possible that you have conceived.

Also, women do need a certain amount of fat in their diets in order to produce the hormones needed to maintain a menstrual cycle. Is it possible that your diet is so low in fat as you disturb your cycle?

Bascially, though, if you have been having periods for a few years now, and you are absolutely certain, given what I said above, that you cannot possibly be pregnant, see your doctor. Even if it's possible from what I've said that you might be pregnant, see your doctor.

At the very least, your doctor can check and see if there might be anything else wrong. And even if you are completely normal and just establishing a normal cycle, you will at least have that much less to worry about.

There could be a number of factors causing your period to be Missing In Action. You werent specific on your age so if you are still in your lower teens it could be that your period just hasnt regulated yet. That happened to be when i was about 14 and my doctor put me on birth control to regulate it.

Another reason your period may be missing is if you are underweight. Alot of times girls that dont get enough nutrients or girls that are underweight lose their period.

And the last reason I can think of is that your problem is stress related. If you have been under a large amount of stress lately it can sometimes irregulate your menstruation.

If your period still does not come within another month contact your doctor because the problem maybe be in your Uterus or Ovaries. Take care *

You don't say how old you are?
Do you otherwise feel ok?
If you are in the first few years of your periods, its pretty common to have messed up periods!
If you also feel 'off', run a fever, or have any 'ugly' discharge , get to the Dr. Thats what they are there for! Don't be afraid of the Gynocologist! They deal with this 'stuff' everyday!
If they say everything is ok, Just let nature take its course! Your body is probably just getting 'adjusted'!
Good luck!

Its really probably no big deal. The body does all sorts of crazy things - I am a young adult and recently went five months without one (no birth control or activity). I got spooked and went to my doctor and it was just an unexplainable hormone thing that physically had very little effect on my body. I recently got it back. Always call to be safe though - but remember, its only two months, so don't get too worried.

Up to this point if you have been very regular, I would think that there is need for some concern, especially if you say you are a virgin and there is no way it could be due to pregnancy. I would not let it go any longer than one more month and go to a gync and have it checked out.

You forgot to mention your age.. There are some factors that may cause you to skip a period. Mental stress is a very common factor.Maybe you can search a website like Web MD and keyword women's menstrual and you can get some more info there.

You should go check it out with your doctor. If you say your a virgin and you have been regular then I would be concerned. This only happens eighter if you are pregnant, not eating well, or stressed out. Have you been stressing out with school, family, or anything? Go to the doctor don't wait to long.

It could be stress or any number of other things: irregular hormone levels, inadequate diet, lack of sleep, etc. Best idea is to go see a doctor.

It's probably no big deal, but since it is bothering you, go see your doctor to rule out any problems that may exist. U will be happy u did.
