DNA is in the shape of a double helix, so you'd have to use something that would twist easily, such as pipe cleaners. You could make it out of those packing peanuts, but make sure you get different colors. You would need a total of six colors:
1. Phosphates [backbone]
2. Deoxyribose Sugars [backbone]
3. C
4. A
5. G
6. T
I took bio last year and forgot what the C A G and T stood for.
Remember that G and C go together as well ast A and T.

I've seen them made out of dog bones, little pom poms, different kinds of candy, legos.

Good luck, I did this project, too.
