Your heart is pumping 50% more blood flow than usual. It's normal. Your insides are doing magical things right now and you will feel so much more as time goes on. There's no telling what it is eactly but to feel different sensations is completely normal.

Not odd at all! I did this my first 2 trimesters. I figured out that the racing heart was from me trying to feel the baby move. I would stop breathing waiting to feel a flutter. Then I would realize what I was doing.
I also had this during the day, My Dr said that you heart has to pump faster to accommodate the baby!

It is perfectly normal... I am on my 3rd pregnancy and have experienced my heart racing with all three. My doctor explained that all the extra work our heart must do is the cause. Please beware that although it is normal in an intrauterine pregnancy, an increased heartrate can also indicate an ectopic pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancies can have many symptoms or non at all, so I would have a sonogram done as soon as possible if you have not already. Once you have confirmed a pregnancy in your uterus I would not worry at all.

Your heart is pumping 50% more blood so it works harder. You notice it more when you are resting as you're being still. The thumping you feel is probably gas. Too soon to feel baby. But once you are 15-18 weeks that feeling may in fact be your baby! Congrats!

Ask your baby care doctor. I always had heart murmurs - when your heart skips a beat.
Always have his or her number on hand and I believe there may be pregnancy hot lines that are more than ready to answer your questions. Call information to find out their numbers. That's the best I can do for you and good luck.

Your heart is beating faster because it's beating to pump blood to the placenta for your baby, try lying on your side if it is bothersome. The flutters in your stomach is probably gas, because it's too early for you to feel the baby move. This is also happening to me, and it's normal. I have foru children already and it happened when I was pregnant with them.hope this helps

go and speak to to doctor about it. But in my opinion, its not odd at all. Your heart SHOULD be pumping faster because of the baby, but im not too sure about the flicking, sorry

Good Luck! x

You're having heart palpitations, which are normal throughout pregnancy. When you lie down, it feels like your heart is racing for no reason, right? Well, I'm 19 weeks, now, and it still comes and goes. Just remember that it's usually temporary, and for most women who experience this, completely normal.

Cardiac output increases by 50% during pregnancy to pump more blood to the placenta to support and nourish your baby

Don't mean to sound so patronising but are you sure you are not further on? Although that doesn't explain the heart thing... could just be the extra blood your body makes... however I'm sure this happens much later in pregnancy.. and I'm not even that sure you feel it??
