Which edition do/have you played?
And any of you ever try GURPS? If yes, how'd you find the combat system?

I've played from AD&D on up through 3.5, though I've played the most with basic 3rd ed.
GURPS I have not played. Yet.

Why yes, I started out with basic D&D shortly after it came out on the mass market. I evolved to advanced and have played all of the editions to 3.5. I think that is still the active one. I have played several other roll playing games including pladium and tried gurps. Unfortunatly it has been over 10 years since I played Rifts so I can not comment on how the combat system goes. I dont remember anything to bad about it so thats a plus for them.

3rd edition, mostly. Our group kind of fell apart shortly after 3.5 came out (there was drama). Haven't played GURPS, but I have played point based systems (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). They're actually pretty simple, and easier to follow than D20, once you get it figured out.
