Students that don't talk to teachers.... THEY MUST BE ON DRUGS!!!!

I don't know what age students you are talking about but my oldest daughter was kind of like that. She is/was extremely shy until she became a teenager and especially around certain people. I know that she has given several people including teachers the silent treatment simply because she was/is to nervous to say anything. Thankfully she started coming out of the extreme shyness in high school but she is still pretty quiet until she knows the person pretty well. She is 19 now and works in a hospital cafeteria and is overcoming her shyness more every day. Since I don't know how many students you are talking about, I won't say that this is all of their problems but it may be what is wrong with some. But I am sure that also with some of them it is rudeness or a "just don't give a ****" attitude. And I don't know what should be done with them but if you decide that it is shyness with some. Try to draw them out but be patient because shyness is hard to overcome, especially in school!!

I do as little talking tto my instructors as I can because they are really dense overall and have nothing further to teach me, but I'm never so rude to give them the silent treatment. They try to help and all, but sometimes, it's so obvious they don't have a clue.

I've never done that before. My teacher is a great man. He's so nice and well spoken. Also a funnyman. Always cracks us up! I always talk to him, I love to. I'm comfortable around him and I've almost never given him the treatment.

I think its fine. They could be shy or they could just not like their teacher or both.
Personally I'm really shy and so therefore I don't go in the class yelling "Hey Ms. Barefoot! How are you?" Plus, I don't like her, so yeah.
She doesn't like me either. She never speaks to me, but its whatever.
I'd rather students be quiet than be noisy and disrespectful to the teacher.

I think the key to getting a good education is to ask questions. Good communication with your teacher is important. That's what they were trained for and that's why they are there. To help you.

It should cause you no end of cold, sleepless nights to know that these little wastes of human flesh are going to run the country one day.
Hell, if I could get one of them to speak just ONE sentence that didn't have "like" and "whatever" in it every other word, I'd consider that a major coup...

It shouldnt matter as long as the teacher is doing their job. if you think you have offended the student or angered them in some way then you should try to talk to them and make thins right.

Typical of today's politically correct b*llsH*t. When I went to school it meant getting smacked across the face, sent home with a note to my parents, followed by getting a belt.

They are the best kind! They aren't disrupting the rest of the class by yap yap yapping away the whole time in class.
