Shania is a very private woman and is still one of the most popular artists in music. She lives in switzerland and whenever she decideds to put out new music it is always the best selling music of the year. Shania is the biggest selling and most popular country female of alltime and has the money and power to do what she wants.
Don't confuse not being popular and being a media whore with living a private life and only making appearances when you have new music out.
Shania is working on a new album and soon she will be back and take the spotlight away from everyone.
Shania likes time with her family and with her power and money she can afford to do what she wants and doesn't have to play the media game like other artists.

She used to be country and original but the music she has come out with in the past five years has been trendy pop crap. I miss the old Shania.

Last I heard, Shania pulled a Garth Brooks -- she decided her family was more important than her career so she gave up the bright lights to spend more time with hubby and kids.

She's raising her son with her reclusive music producer husband, in a chateau in Switzerland. Compared to the tremendous sales of her "Come On Over" and "The Woman in Me" CD's, "Up!" was a relative flop. So was "Shoes," her single from the "Desperate Housewives" soundtrack. Maybe she's trying to reinvent herself.
