I would have to say I love Mariano Rivera, looking at his numbers, there is no doubt he is the best closer ever. I think he has a great personality and is a very religious man who really loves being a Yankee. People think I lie when I say I love every Yankee, but I am very serious. From Derek Jeter to Aaron Guiel, I respect them for playing in the greatest city in the world and making it to the show. I like other Yankees more than some, but I will fight with a Boston fan any day over one of my players.

Well i am a Yankee fan and my favorite players are Jeter because of the experience and leadership he brings the team. Mariano Rivera is the MVP of the Yankees every season. For my future Yankees greats are Robinson Cano and Ching Ming Wang. They go out there and give it all they got and never complain and they bring energy and youth to the Yankees.

My favorite Yankee is former first baseman Don Mattingly. He played from 1982-1995 as one of the greatest first baseman of all time. He had a .307 career batting average. He wore #23. He won the MVP award in 1985. He has also won 9 gold gloves as a first baseman. He has the highest fielding percentage of all time. He still holds the record along with the Cleveland Indians Travis Hafner for most grand slams in a season. In 1990, Mattingly suffered a back injury and his stats would go on the decline for the rest of his career. However, he still gave 110% for every game he played. In his only playoff appearance in 1995 when the Yankees were the first A.L team to win the wild card, he hit .417 ,a home run in game two which was my favorite Mattingly moment. Had 6 hits and 10 R.B.I's as well. He isn't just a great Yankee he was a hero to many Yankee fans. As far as I know, he was the only Yankee to have never been booed at Yankee stadium. And as far as I know, on the plane ride after losing to the Seattle Mariners, people were crying when he announced his retirement. He was loved by many Yankee fans. Even though he was hurt, he played hard and gave it all he had. If not for his injury, he would have made the hall of fame even though I still think he should make it.

Mariano Rivera. When the guy takes the mound, there is an air about him, confidence, determination, power. The only problem I have is that I only get see him one inning a game, if that. Win or lose, I love watching him pitch.

I would have to say Derek Jeter. He comes through when you need him to. He makes incredible plays in the field. He's not afraid to sacrifice himself to make the play. Watch Robbie Cano. He's gonna be a great one. He's already turning heads in NY.

Go Yankees.

Go Sox!!!

If I was a Yankee fan though, which I will never be, it would probably be Jeter. He plays all out, hustles, clutch, never complains. He's everything a major leaguer should be. It's a mystery why he has never been MVP. Without him, the Yankees may be a .500 team.
