A Ship needs a Captain, a country needs a president, a school a principal, a household needs a kind and lovely head to guide the house.. weather it be male or female.
What is he/she authority of ..>making sure that the members of the household are safe, and taken good care of in every way possible. Now that is a lot of Responsibility. Authority only if he/she is Responsible, Kind and Loving to all members of the family.

First of all, he must Take that place. There is more to being the head than just passing out orders! Also, being the authority is not a dictatorship...he should be loving and kind. A teacher, a support, not just financially, but in ALL ways. A positive role model, gentle yet strong. A spiritual guide, a father, a lover and a best friend. His household should treat him as such, respectful and appreciative for all he does. The "powers" should balance from both sides. ......ARE YOU OUT THERE????

Jason C, I've answered 2 of your questions already. What are you on, some kind of power trip today, lol? The man ought to make sure he keeps the bills paid so there will be a house to be the head of. If he doesn't provide for the family, he becomes the head of nothing. In my house, my husband controls the remote to the TV.

If the man is the head of the house why cant he clean his own sh*ter or know how to do his own laundry. And dont give me because that is why he has the woman. I bet with out the woman he wouldn't know how to do anything for himself so how does that make him the "man!" I think that makes him the "boy" bec he needs someone to take care of him like his mommy did!

Actually, in numerous cultures, the female is the head of the household and has the decision-making power for the whole household. Before anything is decided the woman of the house must know about it and okay it or veto it.

Household chores.
No, I'm kidding. I believe it means that the man of the house makes the final decisions. What he says goes. I think that kind of stuff flourished before most women knew what" liberation" was.
A man is supposed to be the head without abusing his power, he does what he believes is best for him, his wife and his family.

I think you are living in a time warp or something. My husband and I are equal partners and share everything. He is NOT an authority over me nor me over him.

Wake up little man, this is 2006!!
