I don't believe in the Mayan doomsday prophecy as the Mayan calender ends on the year 2012.

I do believe that the world and life as we know it today will end and the world will enter into a new cycle this is only natural for all life but there is no proof to say when that will be.

I feel that if doomsday does occur it will be due to global warming and the effect it has on weather patterns around the world for example freak tornado's, droughts in places that should not have droughts, tsunami's and massive floods and the possibility of another ice age.

If you're talking about the 2012 hype, yes I believe that on 12-21-2012 we will enter the 13th Baktun. However, that's no different from our calendar going from 1999 to 2000 (with similar hysteria and drama).

It is my understanding that it is not a doomsday prophesy at all. It is, rather, the end of one cycle, and the beginning of a new one....according to the Mayan calendar. And I believe it will be a much better one.

Of course the world will end before I get to retire! LOL. Seriously, as I understand it, this present cycle will end on 12/21/2012 but that does not necessarily mean the world will come to an end. We could just begin a new cycle.

Many people believe completely in The Judgement Day,Armageddon,The Rapture or what ever name their interpretation of the Bible calls it.
So why would it be so incredible to not believe in the prophesy of a race that saw their own end.
Many years before white conquerers introduced Western diseases.
After all they were right on with that.
How many points does the bible have on its prophesy scoreboard?
Personally I have not studied it, shall now put it on my list.
Thanks!

As far as I was aware, there was nothing about it being a "doomsday", but rather when a major change would take place in the world, something even they couldn't say specifically what.

No one but God knows when the end of the age will be. However, we have a world without end. Jesus plans on ruling and reigning on this earth with us. The Mayans knew something important would happen in 2012, but it was probably given to them by a fallen angel. The Bible teaches that "we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12 So if we are not fighting each other man/woman against man/woman then we are fighting demons, evil spirits, Satan. The Bible even tells us in Ephesians how to put on the whole armor of God so you can fight and stand. It is not "if" we are going to fight, it is "when" are we going to be fighting.

well, for me, it is simple..
whether the world would end or not on 2012...
i would just live my life the way it should be and have fun...
no one knows what will happen but when that time comes, if you lived your life happily then you are prepared for it...
