Hi yes it does go off and these days there should be a number on the back of the box, this is how long it will last. You will tell if it goes off by the smell it wont smell the same after a while. Then its time to throw it away.

Expensive perfume can last a few years so long as the bottle is always shut tight and kept away from heat & light sources ...keep it cool basically ..

yes it does, so dont save your favourite perfume for special occasions, use it up!
the shelf life of your average bottle is about a year after purchase, so if you are planning to re-gift the perfume you got for christmas, saving it for next christmas, you had better use it for birthdays instead!

As long as you want, I would think. Having it wrapped in a box is the same as having it sit on your vanity and not using it.
As long as it isn't undergoing extreme heat or cold, the bottle should be fine.

Yes any time from 12 months of opening but should remain good for MANY years unopened!
