if the hdd is pwd protected i've read the pass gets written to the firmware of the hdd, so it's of no use to install it on a new pc or enclosure - i bet you need to get a working mobo (exact model) and exec the proceduro to unprotect it. Have you tried to contact support service for guidance? - not that easy.

I expect you will have to 'boot' from the hard drive (i.e the drive needs to be c:)
